About Me

Carig HarperI have always been an enthusiastic exponent of health and fitness. Having obtained my Diploma in Personal Training in 2005, I went on to graduate in 2008 from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Development. Whilst at University and upon completion of my studies I furthered my development by working for Esporta in Bridgend and London. Here I was able to apply my knowledge and gain experience within the gym environment.

To underline my enthusiasm for health and fitness I have been involved in a variety of sports and activities including badminton, climbing, football, running and rowing. In addition to having competed in many running events including half marathons and a marathon I competed in the British Indoor Rowing Championships in 2008.

I went on to compete in the Welsh Indoor Rowing Championships in 2008/09 where I secured 4th place in the men’s 2000m U23 heavyweight category.

I specialise in 1 to 1 training, buddy and group personal training, indoor rowing, long distance running, core and abdominal training, sport specific exercise, weight training and boxing conditioning. It is of full importance to me that I provide client focused personal training. Whether you want to lose weight, tone up or improve fitness levels, I can guarantee you results, you WILL see results. Qualifications

Having gained almost ten years experience within the fitness industry I have found it important to keep up with my professional development to ensure I provide quality client focused personal training.

  • Bachelor of Science in Sports Development with Honours (BSc Hons) from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff
  • Premier Training International Diploma in Personal Training.
  • Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing (Anatomy and physiology, planning a gym session and promoting physical activity, instructing a gym session and providing customer service, health and safety in gym instructing).
  • Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training (Fitness assessment, exercise for special populations, lifestyle management, programme design and conducting a personal training session, nutritional advice, career and personal development for personal trainers)
  • Fitness Trainer Award including Nutrition for Health and Fitness.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Sports Massage (Anatomy and physiology, professionalism and ethics in sports massage, sports injury and repair, application of sports massage)
  • Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals, Advanced Instructor Level 3 (Gym instructor, personal trainer, special populations, weight management)
  • Registered Boxercise Instructor
  • Medicine Ball Conditioning.
  • Certificate in Basic Emergency First Aid
